HBJS End of Term 2024 

 

The last few weeks of term have been focused on transition and we have all enjoyed getting to know our new children in readiness for September.  

During the transition period we have helped the children to: 

• become familiar with their new surroundings including the classroom environment 

• know any new routines or expectations  

• share their needs, wants, likes & dislikes 

 

Last Wednesday, we all enjoyed a picnic in the sunshine allowing the children to spend time with their new adults beyond the formality of the classroom. For our Year 5 children, it also gave them the opportunity to spend time with the children in their new classes and begin to build new friendships.  

 

 

This week has been about our wonderful Year 6 children who will be moving on to secondary school in September. We all enjoyed their production of ‘Oliver’ and were spellbound by the performances as they brought the characters to life. So many parents commented on the quality of their performance and how the children gelled to bring the story to life.  

 

On Thursday, we held our Leaver Service at Christ Church, William Street, led by Reverend Anthony. This was a memorable service with the Year 6 best memories and achievements shared with their friends and families. Trophies and medals were awarded to those who have shone in certain subjects and as individuals. 

 

Year 6 have accomplished so much during their time at HBJS and should be proud of themselves. We wish them all the very best as they continue their journey through secondary school.
